According to recent reports, there have been no significant changes made to the national passport by Pakistan’s Directorate General of Immigration and Passports. The department stressed that only new features intended to improve security and inclusivity have been added, leaving the current design unaltered.
In accordance with international norms for personal identification, the mother’s name will now appear alongside the father’s on the revised passports. In keeping with Pakistan’s cultural variety, the visa pages will also include pictures of historical sites from different provinces.
These improvements are a part of Pakistan’s efforts to upgrade the security aspects of the passport and modernize its travel documentation system. After receiving clearance from the Ministry of Interior, the new booklets are now being printed.
