The Punjab government has declared that, starting in 2026, students at government schools in Classes 5 and 8 will take board exams. In place of the former Punjab Examination Commission (PEC), the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA) will administer these examinations.
Exam Schedule:
PECTA will conduct Class 5 Exams this year, which are scheduled to begin on February 9, 2026. All those students who are going to appear this year in these exams are suggested to stay with us on website to get every single information regarding these exams, as board officials will announce it. As for eighth class exams, the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA) will conduct exams starting from 16 February 2026.
All Government Schools in Punjab
All schools, which are government bodies or are affiliated to government education system, are bound to take part in these board exams. In is mandatory for all students who are getting their education from government schools to take these exams. Private schools will follow rules given by their institutions and follow their exams procedure as previous.
Registration of PECTA Exams 2026
It is mandatory for all students to register themselves with board in order to appear in these exams. The Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTA) will start registration process between 3rd November to 15th November 2025. All students are suggested to provide all the requested information to their educational institutions in order to avoid any inconvenience in future.
Announcement of PECTA exams 2026
All students are informed that board will announce result of these exams on 31st march 2026. It is a responsibility of board to prescribe syllabus, conduct exams and declare results of these exams. Board is fulfilling all its responsibilities for the betterment of the education system in Pakistan.
